3D models are highly desirable and are rapidly gaining popularity for use in various applications, such as digital media and architecture. However, generating 3D content is expensive and slow, requiring either hand-modeling or the use of expensive LIDAR scanners. By combining the use of low cost optics, embedded high performance processors, and environment aware software, we have developed a handheld 3D modeling device that produces accurate and complete 3D models of the environment in real time.

StillOpen

Team Pi
Trading algorithms are difficult to write and test. It is not unusual for the interface between an algorithm and a broker’s API to take more than 10,000 lines of code. Then you have to create a way to test the algorithm. After all this is done for your present algorithm, you have to re-develop it for each generation of a new algorithm. This takes much time and effort. We take all that work out. Our approach is much simpler. We create a low-latency messaging environment that allows algorithms and filters to communicate with each other. It has a testing-suite and provides an easy way to monitor and compare algorithm performance and filter valuations.
Spring 2012 Portfolio

AgreeOn is like your loans bank manager but for you and your friends.

Leaving out the excess fat associated with aggressive DRM, intrusive social notifications, and watered-down gameplay potential is our plan to reach out to that audience, plus it’s a lot of overhead we won’t have to worry about implementing. Overall, we feel that producing a game we’re proud of, and that our friends enjoy playing means we’re on the right track.

RPM (Creating a better way to access locations)
Currently, we have to carry multiple membership cards and key fobs to access different locations. Our team is creating mobile apps that stores the membership number in QR Code form and includes more information about the business. Our plan is to pilot this idea at a local gym, where the customers can scan in the QR Code ID in the mobile app. The customers would also have more information about hours of operation, schedule of training classes, and the promotions offered by the gym. In the future, we can implement this idea with other businesses, schools, and even rewards programs.
Second Snake (Health IT)
The problems facing the United States’ healthcare system are urgent; healthcare spending now accounts for 17% of the US’s GDP. Many possible solutions to this problem have been proposed. The most popular reforms involve centralizing a patient’s care in one location. One such reform is the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), in which a group of doctors across many specialties join together to take responsibility for a patient’s care. We are developing tools to ensure that patients in PCMHs receive coordinated care. Our tools can help PCMHs coordinate all aspects of care, such as scheduling follow-up visits with patients, ensuring the completion of lab tests, and delivering patients any needed specialist care. Seamless coordination will allow doctors to focus on providing great care without worrying that their patients will become lost in the healthcare system.
