Joshua Baer Specialist of Computer Science

Joshua Baer helps people quit their jobs and become entrepreneurs.

In 2008 he founded Capital Factory, the largest startup incubator and co-working space in Austin, Texas. Josh founded his first startup in 1996 in his college dormitory at CMU. Josh is the Chief Innovation Officer of Return Path and is the most active email investor in the world. Josh was recently recognized as the 2013 Austin Community Leader of the Year and a 2013 Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute.

Bob Metcalfe Professor of Innovation

Bob has 23+ years of successful experience in science, engineering, high-tech entrepreneurship, and venture capital.

He is UT Austin Professor of Innovation and Murchison Fellow of Free Enterprise, directing the Innovation Center in the Cockrell School of Engineering. He is also Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Cockrell School of Engineering and Professor of Information Management in the McCombs School of Business.

Ben Dyer Entrepreneur in Residence

Ben is a serial entrepreneur in software, interactive media, banking, mobile payments, and venture capital.

Ben Dyer is the Entrepreneur in Residence at the Cockrell School of Engineering. He is best known as the founding president of Peachtree Software in Atlanta. He is a member of the Georgia Technology Hall of Fame but now resides in Austin. An engineering graduate of Georgia Tech, he has a lifetime of involvement there and is currently on the board of the Georgia Tech Research Corporation.
